Edward Gal and Morlands Tortilas Win with 90.7%

In another explosive performance, Edward Gal and Moorlands Tortilas received a stunning 90.7% in the Kur at the European Championships at Windsor.

Once again, this horse polarizes the dressage community. Some praise the freedom of his front end and his expressive gaits; others say his front end distracts from the fact that he does not track up behind.

Some write that Tortilas is an example of a new trend in dressage horses where judges reward more shoulder action . . .

I think his canter pirouettes are spectacular and he brings an excitement to the ring that hasn't been seen since Blus Hors Matine.

Let's face it. There are very few dressage horses out there that spark any discussion. Perhaps this extravagant young stallion will help bring some excitement to the discipline in a good way. At the very least it's a nice change from discussions of rollkur or Katie Price and her matchy-matchy pink riding outfits!
