Zenyatta wins Breeders Cup in a dramatic run from behind.

This has been a great year for fillies. Today Zenyatta won her 14th straight race with an incredible run in the Breeders Cup coming from dead last in an amazing run. This was the first time she'd run in a mixed field and she kept her undefeated record.

This is a race worth watching. Jockey Mike Smith kept well off the pace, running about 11 lengths behind the leaders. In fact, for the first 200 yards she looked uncomfortable and crooked. But when asked to run, Zenyatta just exploded. She came through the field and rocketed by Gio Ponti to win by a length beating some of the best horses of 2009 including Summer Bird and Mine that Bird.

She certainly looks like the 2009 Horse of the Year to me!
